Las Vegas may have a penchant for vintage shows, but the city has little sentiment for its aged casinos. Because of the skyrocketing value of property on the Las Vegas Strip, it's no longer profitable to maintain old hotels there.

That's why it makes perfect sense for Bally's Corp. to tear down The Tropicana and build the Oakland Athletics a whole new ballpark. As the second-oldest resort casino on the Strip, that building dates back to 1957.

The hoops they had to go through to get a building with that rich a history to be torn down though.. but yes, a ballpark would be a better use of the space, and will attract even more activity in the area.

Always aim higher. Just like in my very own Easy Sportsbook Pay Per Head

I guess Vegas wants to reinvent itself into more of an entertainment destination and less of gambling.

I love reading bookie news, tips and more.

The Tropicana is holding a liquidation sale. It plans to unload everything from theater seats and crystal chandeliers to furniture and appliances. Now you can own something from the iconic hotel.
