The team has been scattered throughout several government departments to collect data and provide directives. On Monday, a few were observed at the Department of Education, which Trump promised to dismantle during the campaign.
Republicans are defending Musk as little more than Trump's campaign pledge to cut and burn. On the other hand, Democrats say Musk is accumulating unchecked and unlawful authority inside the government.
