The mysterious sources of cosmic solid rays remain a mystery. Still, space scientists have found an ultra-rare, ultra-high-energy particle that they think came to Earth from outside our galaxy.
A new study was published in Thursday's issue of the Science magazine and describes the intensity of this subatomic particle—which is undetectable to the human eye—as being comparable to the impact of dropping a brick on your toe from waist height. Based on the investigation results, it is comparable to the "Oh-My-God" particle, identified in 1991 as the most energetic cosmic ray ever measured.

Imagine how many years the cosmic ray traveled to be visible to us Earthlings.
