Bedlam's new production makes an admirable effort to update 2023 audiences on Stoppard's sophisticated explorations of chaos theory, Newtonian law, thermodynamics, and metaphysics, but the outcome is confusing. And that may be the best evidence that Stoppard makes a brilliant but frustrating argument.
