A storm cloud formed over the Pacific Ocean back in 2018. Normal, for the area. Whats unusual, is that when the storm formed, its unusual high energy level caused the cloud to push up towards the stratosphere, where the altitude is so high, the temperatures are colder that what you would find on the troposphere. In fact, the coldest temperature was minus 167.8 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 111 degrees Celsius). This is a big issue as the frequency of clouds in storms of this level is more frequent than, say, 13 years ago. Scientists will be looking at developments on this, and if it leads towards a pattern of harsher storms.
