On Friday, the state government of Queensland imposed fines on Australia's Star Entertainment Group (SGR.AX) totaling A$100 million ($67.92 million) and postponed the suspension of its casino licenses for a year so that it could keep an eye on how things were going in the state.

"There have been substantial breaches by the Star group and its businesses," the Queensland government said in a statement after reviewing the casino company's replies to show cause letters issued last month.
