On Sunday, October 29, the Group of Seven (G7) industrial countries demanded that import limitations on Japanese food items imposed by China in response to Japan's release of wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear power plant be "immediately repealed."

Although China was not specifically named, the G7 trade ministers decried what they saw as China's increasing economic coercion through trade in a statement released following a weekend meeting in Osaka.
